Co-founders Martin and Gerda were both born and raised in Switzerland.

Martin: "I found myself often cast in the role of the family counsellor, despite being the youngest. Those early moments of guiding and supporting others planted the seeds of leadership deep within me."

Gerda: "I grew up in a large family who were incredibly involved in different community groups. This meant countless hours of volunteering at events which taught me invaluable lessons about giving back to others. It also had the added bonus of insights into event planning and organisation."

Co-founders Martin and Gerda started their careers in hospitality and business administration respectively.

Martin: "In the late eighties, I embarked on a career in hospitality, working my way up through the ranks and leading large teams in senior positions. My journey took me aboard cruise ships and to Bermuda, where I immersed myself in diverse cultures, learning valuable lessons in empathy and understanding along the way."

Gerda: "I guess you could say I've always had a thing for books and indoor activities. Crosswords, drawing, puzzles - you name it, I loved it. So, it's no surprise that I found my way into the world of business administration. In 1995, I travelled Australia to improve my English, and that's when I was bitten by the travel bug. I  worked at hotel front desks on cruise ships and in Bermuda, soaking in the diverse cultures of each destination."

Co-founders Martin and Gerda made the bold decision to migrate to Melbourne, Australia

Martin: "In 2001, Gerda and I made the leap to Melbourne, Australia, and I transitioned into the corporate world with a thirst for new challenges. 

As a  Senior Manager for many large teams and later a Hospitality Management trainer for over a decade, I found myself frequently thrown into the deep end, facing leadership dilemmas conflict situations without proper training and without a lifeline.

Navigating through these trials, I got my first gray hair and, more importantly, realised the importance of effective communication, conflict resolution, and human-centered leadership."

Gerda: "The move to Australia was a big one, but I was excited for the new challenges and adventures that awaited us. 

While working as an Executive Assistant to a high-profile Executive, I decided to further my studies in Business Administration, which helped me enhance my skills and knowledge in the field."

Martin pursued studies to learn effective human-centered leadership.

Martin: "Navigating through my management trials and experiencing a lack of support by potential mentors, I realised the importance of human-centred leadership skills, like effective communication, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, resilience, and more of course. 

In 2011, I embarked on a journey of learning, seeking out the tools and strategies to not only lead but to inspire and empower others."

In 2012, Martin and Gerda founded PROfound Coaching, which was renamed to PROfound Leadership in 2017.

Martin: "Together with my partner Gerda, the administration guru, we embarked on a mission to teach and embody human-centered leadership through over 400 group workshops, well over 1,100 hours of one-on-one leadership coaching, and countless speaking engagement. My written works include several books, including my latest #1 International Bestseller, 'I did it!'.

In 2019, I was awarded 'Learning Professional of the Year' by ilp (Institute for Learning & Performance - Asia Pacific"

In 2023, we won the 'Leadership Award' issued by the Melbourne Business Network."

Gerda: "Fast forward to 2012 (after settling in Australia, buying a house, adopting two cats, and having two wonderful children), and I found myself joining the team initially part-time, which quickly transitioned to a full-time role. 

My dedication, attention to detail, and administrative expertise became valuable assets to the company. While Martin is the facilitator and face of the business, I keep the wheels turning in the background."

Martin and Gerda founded Global Leadership Hub in 2021 to consolidate knowledge and reach a wider audience.

Martin: "Despite our efforts, reaching individuals on a broader scale remained a challenge. That's why we decided to consolidate our knowledge and insights into the Global Leadership Hub, an eLearning platform designed to empower leaders everywhere with the tools they need to thrive in today's world.

I now get to explore an exciting, new world of online course design and content creation, while also indulging in my passion of video creation. Plus I get to enjoy connecting with you on your leadership journey, where ever you are in the world!"

Gerda: "Here I am today, an integral part of the Global Leadership Hub team, still passionate about empowering individuals to become the best leaders they can be. My journey may have started with books and puzzles, but now it's all about helping others navigate their own paths to success."
